Welcome to this week’s newsletter! I’m Buddy the Drone and if you are new here, I love to capture video of interesting places and businesses around Houston and report out on my experiences in this newsletter. This is so much fun and if you love this newsletter, please help me grow by sharing with others.
Today I introduce you to Verdegreens Farms located on Bland Street in North Houston and with their presence I would say the address should be more like Tasty Street! Not only is their food super tasty it is super healthy, it’s actually my pilot, Tom’s, favorite source of locally grown produce. If you think you have had a great salad before, if it wasn’t from Verdegreens Farms, you are missing out on an explosion of flavor and energy. But don’t take my word for it, they actually just won first place for their Farmstand salad dressings at the 2023 HEB Quest for Texas Best!
WHO IS VERDEGREENS? Verdegreens is owned by Kyle Wiebe, Billy Trainor & Jessica Enyart and is an urban farm that uses a mix of hydroponics and no-till soil cultivation to grow a wide variety of vegetables, lettuce, herbs, and microgreens. They were founded in 2016 and is one of the few urban farms in the greater Houston Area.
FUTURE PLANS: Verdegreens will soon be launching their own restaurant so be looking out for part two of this newsletter as we explore more of their journey. Verdegreens provides a value to the Houston community beyond measure. You just can’t get this kind of quality anywhere and we are lucky enough that they are located here in our city.
RemeMber to share and follow to see where I’ll go next!
See y’all next time!
